The Adoption Process
Thank you for considering to adopt one of our incredible rescue dogs! Not only are you saving a life, but you're receiving an unbreakable bond of love, and companionship for their lifetime in return. There's no greater bond than what a rescue dog has to offer! We're dedicated to providing our rescues a safe foster home to decompress before they're available for adoption. While in the care of a trained foster volunteer, our dogs are medically vetted, provided with basic training or with professional training if needed, they're spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, and observed diligently to provide their future adopters an in depth overview of their personalities and character traits so you can be certain they're the right fit for your family.
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an Adoption Application. Once completed, a team member will reach out to you via email within 72 hours. Please check your spam folder!
Once your application is approved, we will set up a time and day for a phone call to go over any questions or concerns you may have about your potential new pet. To proceed further, we require a virtual home check that shows where your pet will be eating, sleeping, playing, and your backyard if applicable.
Once your home check is approved we schedule a day and time for a meet and greet at a public place near the fosters home, such as a park. If all goes well during your meet and greet you will take the dog home that day for a 7 day adoption trial.
Once the 7 days are up, you will decide if you want to make it official. To complete the adoption process you will sign our adoption contract and pay the appropriate adoption fee correlated with the dogs age.

What If My Pup Isn't ready To Be Fixed? We do not spay or neuter puppies under FIVE months of age for their safety. However, this doesn't mean that your adoptive pup can't come home. Once you have officially adopted your puppy we will schedule her/his spay or neuter appointment for the month they are physically able to at one of our registered spay/neuter clinics and paid for by Lets Rescue Dogs.

What can I expect when looking to Adopt? There is an adoption questionnaire that will help our adoption counselors match you with a dog that fits your lifestyle. Your adoption counselor will also share any medical and behavioral information we have for the dog you are interested in adopting. They’ll also answer any questions you have about caring for a dog. If the dog you want to adopt has already been adopted, our counselors are happy to discuss other available dogs.
