Adopt A Rescue Dog

Thank you for considering adoption through Let’s Rescue Dogs. When you adopt, you’re not just saving a life—you’re gaining a lifelong companion and a bond built on trust, resilience, and unconditional love. There is truly nothing like the connection formed with a rescue dog.

Before our dogs are available for adoption, they are placed in safe, loving foster homes where they can decompress and begin to heal. Under the care of trained foster volunteers, each dog is thoroughly medically vetted, spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, and closely observed. When needed, they receive basic or professional training. This time in foster care allows us to understand each dog’s personality, needs, and quirks—so we can confidently match them with the right family.

The adoption process begins with an Adoption Application. Once submitted, a team member will reach out via email within 72 hours (please be sure to check your spam folder).

If your application is approved, we’ll schedule a phone call to answer any questions and talk through what life with your potential new companion may look like. The next step is a virtual home check, where we’ll review where your dog will eat, sleep, play, and—if applicable—your yard.

Once the home check is approved, we’ll arrange a meet-and-greet at a public location near the foster’s home, such as a local park. If all goes well, your dog will go home with you that day for a 7-day adoption trial, giving everyone time to adjust and ensure it’s the right fit.

At the end of the trial period, you’ll decide whether to make it official. Finalizing the adoption includes signing our adoption contract and paying the adoption fee, which varies based on the dog’s age.
