When a shelter calls about a dog with a broken leg, the surgery has to be booked that day, and we can only say yes if the money is already there. That's why monthly donations matter so much to us. One-time gifts are just as welcome, and they usually go straight toward the last surgery we said yes to.

What it costs to run the rescue
Our monthly goal of $25,000 is what it takes to keep the rescue going for a month: vet bills for the dogs currently in our care, supplies for our foster homes, and the gas that moves dogs around Southern California. Here's where it goes.
Surgery and specialist care
Fracture repairs and the other surgeries many of our dogs need before they can even be listed for adoption. This is our biggest expense, and it's what decides how many dogs we can take in.
Diagnostics
X-rays, bloodwork and ultrasounds. Most of the dogs we take in need imaging before a vet can say what's wrong.
Medication and prevention
Antibiotics, pain relief, treatment for mange and parvo, and monthly flea, tick and heartworm prevention for every dog in foster care.
Routine vetting
Spay or neuter, vaccines, microchipping and dental work, done for every dog before adoption.
Foster supplies
Crates, beds, food, bowls, leashes and puppy pads, replaced as dogs come and go.
Transportation
Gas reimbursement for the volunteers who drive dogs to shelters, vets and foster homes across four counties.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. Let's Rescue Dogs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 93-1772160. You'll receive an emailed receipt for every gift, and no goods or services are provided in exchange for your donation.
Can I change or cancel a monthly gift?
Yes, at any time. Your receipt email includes a link where you can update your card, change the amount, or cancel. No phone call needed.
Where does my donation go?
Veterinary care comes first: surgeries, X-rays, bloodwork and medication. After that, food, crates and supplies for our foster homes, and gas reimbursement for the volunteers who drive dogs to appointments and out of shelters.
Can I donate toward a specific dog?
You're welcome to email us the dog's name after you give, and we'll make a note of it. In practice, donations go into one fund for all of our dogs' medical care, because a single dog's bill is often larger than what comes in under their name, and the next dog's bill arrives before the last one is paid.
Do you accept supplies instead of money?
Yes. Our Amazon wish list (opens in a new tab) is kept up to date with what our foster homes are short on. Gently used crates and beds are welcome too; please email us first so we can arrange a pickup.
Will my employer match my donation?
Many employers match donations to 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Your HR team will need our name and EIN, which are on this page and on your receipt.
