My name is Jax and I am an adorable poodle-terrier mix. I'm a tiny 10-pound boy. I came from a really difficult hoarding situation, but that doesn't get me down.

All I want is to have my person by my side and show them that I love them. I'll follow you from room to room, because being near my person is my favorite place in the world.

Because of my past, exploring the world is all new to me. There are a lot of things I'm learning for the very first time: walks, baths, grass, harnesses. It's all pretty new. Sometimes the big outside world feels a little scary, but every day I get a little braver, because I trust you and want to do my best so you love me.

I may be a little shy when we first meet, but if you give me a chance, I promise I'll love you with my whole heart. Male energy takes me a little longer to warm up to, but give me some time and I'll get there.

If you're working, I'll quietly curl up beside you. Before I hop onto the couch or bed, I'll politely wait for permission (I'm a gentleman, after all). And if you rub my belly? Well, I'll happily roll right over every single time.

I'm incredibly loyal and submissive. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and don't mind sharing my food; I learned that from growing up with lots of furry friends. I'm also great with people, especially when I'm close to the person I trust. Sometimes men make me a little nervous at first, but with patience and kindness I warm up and become the sweetest little shadow you've ever had.

I'm still learning my potty manners, so I may have an occasional accident while I figure things out. I promise I'm trying my best, and a patient family will help me succeed. You'll only hear my voice when I'm protecting you, especially when it gets dark outside.
